Status 200 Uploads vs Postiz

Postiz is an open-source social media scheduler with a hosted cloud version. Here is how the two compare, checked against Postiz's own pricing page and docs.

Status 200 is better for

  • Creators who want a permanent free plan (30 posts per month): Postiz Cloud has none, and its 7-day trial needs a payment method
  • Brands that post to several networks each: Beginner ($9/mo, or $7.50 a month billed yearly) holds 3 profiles with one account per network in each, while Postiz Standard ($29/mo, or $23 billed yearly) holds 5 accounts
  • Anyone who uploads big videos: up to 5 GB here, against 1 GB per video on Postiz Cloud

Postiz is better for

  • Teams that want to self-host: Postiz is open source (AGPL-3.0) and runs on your own server with Docker
  • Users who need networks we do not support, such as Reddit, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Discord, Google Business Profile, Whop or WordPress
  • Agencies with many accounts on one network: Postiz Ultimate holds 100 channels for $99/mo ($79 billed yearly)
  • Users who want X, webhooks and unlimited posts on every plan, plus built-in AI image and video generation

Key differences

Where the two products differ

Free plan vs 7-day trial

Status 200 has a permanent Free plan: 1 profile and 30 posts per month on 7 networks, with REST API keys. Postiz Cloud has no free plan: every plan starts with a 7-day trial that needs a payment method, then costs from $29/mo ($23 a month billed yearly, where Status 200 Beginner is $7.50). Postiz's self-hosted edition is free, if you run the server and register your own developer app on each network.

Bigger files

Status 200 accepts videos up to 5 GB (resumable in the dashboard, or imported from a URL through the API) and images up to 20 MB, and publishes videos up to 5 GB to YouTube, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and Skool, and up to 4 GB to TikTok. Instagram (300 MB) and Threads (1 GB) have lower limits of their own. Postiz Cloud caps every file at 1 GB for video and 10 MB for images, on every plan, and takes MP4 as its only video format.

Per-profile pricing

Status 200 prices per profile, and one profile holds one account on each network, so Beginner ($9/mo, 3 profiles, 8 networks including Skool) can hold up to 24 connected accounts. Postiz prices by connected accounts: Standard ($29/mo) holds 5, and three Facebook Pages count as three. Postiz costs less when many accounts sit on one network: 10 TikTok accounts fit Postiz Team ($39/mo) but need 10 profiles here (Skilled, $69/mo).

Where Postiz is ahead

Postiz is open source (AGPL-3.0) and can run on your own server. It lists more than 30 networks, among them Reddit, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Discord, Google Business Profile and Whop, and it posts to Skool through its browser extension. Every plan has unlimited posts, X, webhooks and its MCP server, and it generates AI images and video. Make lists an app that Postiz maintains.

Who should use which?

Choose Status 200 if...

  • You want a permanent free plan, or paid plans from $9/mo ($7.50 a month billed yearly)
  • You upload big videos: up to 5 GB, where Postiz Cloud stops at 1 GB per video and takes MP4 only
  • You run several brands on several networks each and prefer one price per profile to a cap on connected accounts
  • You want REST API keys on every plan, including Free, and a Python package (pip install status200uploads)

Choose Postiz if...

  • You want to self-host an open-source app (AGPL-3.0) on your own server
  • You post to networks we do not support, such as Reddit, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Discord, Slack, Google Business Profile, Whop or WordPress
  • You run many accounts on one network: Postiz Pro holds 30 channels for $49/mo and Ultimate 100 for $99/mo
  • You want unlimited posts and X on every plan, or webhooks that fire when a post publishes
  • You want built-in AI images, AI video and video clipping, RSS auto-posting, repeating posts, or scheduled first comments and X threads
  • You want Pinterest video Pins or LinkedIn carousels

Switching from Postiz?

Follow these steps to move your publishing over

  1. Create a free Status 200 Uploads account at status200uploads.com/signup

  2. Connect the same social accounts you use on Postiz. Eight networks connect through their own official sign-in (OAuth), so we never see your password. Skool has no such sign-in: you paste your Skool session cookie, which we store encrypted.

  3. Upload your media to the Status 200 media library

  4. Recreate your scheduled posts in the dashboard, or send them to the REST API with post.scheduledFor; there is no import from Postiz

  5. If an AI app posted through the Postiz MCP server, add https://mcp.status200uploads.com/mcp as a custom connector in Claude or Claude Code. The AI connector is included in every paid plan, from Beginner.

  6. Verify your first post publishes successfully, then cancel your Postiz subscription
