Key differences

Where the two products differ

API on every plan

Status 200's REST API is on every plan, including Free, with self-serve keys. It publishes or schedules posts on all 9 networks (Skool from Beginner, X with the $9/mo add-on), and a dry run checks a post without sending it. Metricool's API is on its Advanced and Custom plans only: Advanced starts at $67/mo billed monthly ($53 a month on annual billing) for up to 15 brands. Metricool's MCP server, the way AI apps connect, works on every Metricool plan.

Lower price for up to 3 brands

Status 200 Beginner is $9/mo ($7.50 a month billed yearly) for 3 profiles. Like a Metricool brand, each profile holds one account per network, and Beginner covers 8 networks including Skool. Metricool's first paid plan, Starter, is $25/mo billed monthly ($20 a month on annual billing) for up to 5 brands. From 5 brands up Metricool costs less: Starter for 10 brands is $45/mo billed monthly, where Status 200 Skilled (10 profiles) is $69/mo.

Large videos and Skool

Status 200 accepts videos up to 5 GB and publishes up to 5 GB to YouTube, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and Skool, and up to 4 GB to TikTok. Metricool's media requirements list 500 MB for videos on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest, 512 MB on X and LinkedIn, and 1 GB on Threads. Skool is not among the networks Metricool lists.

Where Metricool is ahead

Metricool pairs the planner with analytics: competitor tracking (5 profiles on Free, 100 on paid plans), unlimited history and PDF or PowerPoint reports on paid plans, and an inbox for comments and messages. It also posts to Bluesky and Google Business Profile, publishes Pinterest video Pins, LinkedIn documents and threads on X and Threads, imports posts from CSV files, and its MCP server works on its Free plan. On Advanced it adds official apps on Zapier and on Make; Status 200 has no Zapier or Make app.

Switching from Metricool?

Follow these steps to move your publishing over

  1. Create a free Status 200 Uploads account at status200uploads.com/signup

  2. Connect the same social accounts you use on Metricool. Eight networks connect through their own official sign-in (OAuth), so we never see your password. Skool has no such sign-in: you paste your Skool session cookie, which we store encrypted.

  3. Upload your media to the Status 200 media library

  4. Export your scheduled posts from Metricool's calendar as a CSV file, then recreate them in the Status 200 dashboard or send them to the REST API with post.scheduledFor, one request per post

  5. Verify your first posts publish, then cancel your Metricool plan: it stays active until the end of the billing period and then becomes Metricool Free
