Status 200 Uploads vs Ayrshare

Ayrshare is a social media API that products embed to post for their own users. Here is how it compares, checked against Ayrshare's own pricing page and API docs.

Status 200 is better for

  • Creators, small businesses and agencies who post to accounts they manage and want a free plan, or paid plans from $9/mo instead of $149/mo
  • Skool community owners: Skool is not among the networks Ayrshare lists
  • Claude users: our AI connector signs in (OAuth) as a custom connector, from Beginner, while Ayrshare's docs say its MCP server cannot be added as a personal connector in claude.ai, Claude Desktop or the Claude mobile app

Ayrshare is better for

  • SaaS platforms whose own users link their social accounts inside the product, through a white-label linking page or an embedded Connect widget
  • Developers who need Bluesky, Google Business Profile, Reddit, Snapchat or Telegram, or WhatsApp messaging (beta)
  • Products that need comments, direct messages, reviews and webhooks through the same API
  • Platforms with hundreds of end-user profiles: Business pricing falls to $1.99 per profile a month, billed yearly, beyond 500

Ayrshare bills per active social profile: one customer, brand or location counts as one profile, however many networks it connects. The prices shown are billed monthly; billed yearly ("Save 17%") they are $129, $249 and $499 a month. On Business, profiles 31 to 100 cost $8.99 each a month ($7.99 billed yearly), 101 to 500 $3.49 ($2.99) and above 500 $2.49 ($1.99). There is no free plan for new sign-ups: the Launch plan has a 28-day free trial that needs a credit card or Stripe Link, and Premium, Business and Enterprise are billed at sign-up. On Business, the Max Pack (AI generation, link shortener, image resizing and more) is $300/mo and Facebook boosted ads $100/mo; Enterprise includes the Max Pack. Ayrshare's pricing FAQ says every plan includes unlimited API calls and unlimited posts; its help center adds that each profile has a monthly post quota set by its plan, and that failed posts count toward it. Posting to X needs your own X developer app and X API credits, which X bills separately.

Key differences

Where the two products differ

A free plan, then $9/mo

Status 200 has a permanent Free plan (1 profile, 30 posts per month, REST API keys) and paid plans from $9/mo ($7.50 a month billed yearly) for 3 profiles. Ayrshare has no free plan for new sign-ups: Premium, its first plan, is $149/mo ($129 billed yearly) for 1 social profile, and the 28-day free trial of its Launch plan needs a credit card or Stripe Link.

An AI connector that signs in

Status 200's MCP server lets an AI app sign in to your account (OAuth), so you can add it to Claude as a custom connector. Tested with Claude and Claude Code. The AI connector is included in every paid plan, from Beginner. Ayrshare's MCP server accepts only an API key sent in a request header: its docs say Claude Code can connect that way, but personal custom connectors in claude.ai, Claude Desktop and the Claude mobile app cannot.

Skool and 5 GB YouTube uploads

Status 200 posts to Skool communities on every paid plan, from Beginner ($9/mo); Skool is not among the networks Ayrshare lists. Status 200 also uploads YouTube videos up to 5 GB, where Ayrshare's media guidelines set 4 GB (larger files on Enterprise, by request).

Where Ayrshare is ahead

Ayrshare is built for products that post for their own users: each user links accounts on a white-label page or in an embedded Connect widget, and one call posts to up to 13 networks, Bluesky, Google Business Profile, Reddit, Snapchat and Telegram among them, with WhatsApp messaging in beta. Its API also covers comments, direct messages, reviews, webhooks, Facebook and Instagram ad boosts and GraphQL, with official Node.js, Python and Flutter SDKs, and its per-profile rate falls to $1.99 a month (billed yearly) beyond 500 profiles.

Who should use which?

Choose Status 200 if...

  • You post to accounts you manage (one brand or several) and want a free plan, or 3 profiles for $9/mo
  • You publish to Skool, or upload long YouTube videos (up to 5 GB)
  • You want Claude or Claude Code to post for you after you sign in

Choose Ayrshare if...

  • You are building a product whose users connect their own social accounts inside your app, with a white-label linking page and per-profile billing
  • You need Bluesky, Google Business Profile, Reddit, Snapchat or Telegram, or WhatsApp messaging
  • You need comments, DMs, reviews or webhooks through the API
  • You need LinkedIn document or multi-image posts, Pinterest video Pins, X threads and polls, or Facebook Stories
  • You want official Node.js or Flutter SDKs, or a GraphQL API
  • You run hundreds of end-user profiles: Business pricing falls to $1.99 per profile a month (billed yearly) beyond 500

Switching from Ayrshare?

Follow these steps to move your publishing over

  1. Create a free Status 200 Uploads account at status200uploads.com/signup

  2. Connect the social accounts you post to through Ayrshare, one profile per brand. Eight networks connect through their own official sign-in (OAuth), so we never see your password. Skool has no such sign-in: you paste your Skool session cookie, which we store encrypted.

  3. Point your code at the REST API (https://status200uploads.com/api/v2): one request publishes one post to one network from one profile, where Ayrshare takes a platforms array in one call, and post.scheduledFor schedules it up to 365 days ahead

  4. Recreate your scheduled posts in the dashboard or through the API; there is no import tool

  5. Check that your first posts publish, then cancel your Ayrshare subscription
