Platform File Size Limits

You can upload and store files up to 5 GB (images up to 20 MB). What can then be published differs per network: the sizes below are what each one takes through Status 200 Uploads, and further down how long a big video takes.

TikTok

TypeMax Size
Images20 MB
Videos4 GB

Max 35 photos per post. A photo larger than 1080 × 1920 pixels is sent as a smaller copy and you are told; one we cannot make smaller is refused before anything is sent. Videos up to 4 GB (TikTok's own limit) and as long as the TikTok account allows (10 to 60 minutes). Videos over 1 GB are fetched by TikTok straight from our storage.

Instagram

TypeMax Size
Images8 MB
Videos300 MB

Reels up to 15 minutes and 300 MB (Instagram's own API limit). Stories up to 60 seconds / 100 MB.

Facebook

TypeMax Size
Images10 MB
Videos5 GB

Videos up to 5 GB, the largest file we store (Facebook itself accepts more). Reels 3 to 90 seconds. The 10 MB image limit is checked in the dashboard; through the API, Facebook itself decides on image size.

YouTube

TypeMax Size
Videos5 GB

Up to 5 GB per video, the largest file we store. Channels that are not verified with YouTube are limited to 15 minutes.

X

TypeMax Size
Images5 MB
Videos5 GB

Up to 4 images per post. Videos up to 5 GB, the largest file we store (X itself accepts up to 8 GB). One video per post.

LinkedIn

TypeMax Size
Images10 MB
Videos5 GB

One image or video per post (MP4). Videos up to 5 GB, which is also LinkedIn's own limit. The 10 MB image limit is checked in the dashboard; through the API, LinkedIn itself decides on image size.

Pinterest

TypeMax Size
Images20 MB

Image pins only. Recommended 2:3 aspect ratio.

Threads

TypeMax Size
Images8 MB
Videos1 GB

Up to 20 media per carousel. Videos up to 5 minutes. Text limit 500 characters.

Skool

TypeMax Size
Images20 MB
Videos5 GB

Text, image, and video posts to a Skool community. Videos up to 5 GB, the largest file we store. The 20 MB image limit is checked in the dashboard; through the API, Skool itself decides on image size.

How long a big video takes

First your video uploads to us. That depends on your internet: about 1½ minutes per GB on a 100 Mbit/s connection, about 7 minutes per GB on 20 Mbit/s. Then we send it to the network. Typical times for that, measured with real 3 to 5 GB videos:

NetworkPer GB1 GB video3 GB video
TikTok< 1 min3 min4 min
Skool1.5 min6 min9 min
X3.5 min6 min13 min
Facebook5 min7 min17 min
LinkedIn10 min13 min33 min
  • The 1 GB and 3 GB times include the few minutes each network needs to prepare a video before the post appears.
  • You don't have to wait: once the dashboard says "Sending to …", you can close the page. We finish the post and the result appears in your post history.
  • TikTok is the fastest because TikTok downloads the video from our storage itself. Smaller videos go out within a minute or two on every network.
  • Networks can be slower at busy times, so treat these as typical times, not a promise.

General Notes

  • Video sizes, and image sizes for TikTok, Instagram, X, Pinterest and Threads, are checked before anything is published, in the dashboard and in the API. Facebook, LinkedIn and Skool image sizes are checked in the dashboard; through the API those networks decide. A file that is too large for a network is refused with a message that names the network and its limit.
  • When posting to several networks at once, each network's own limit applies. Deselect the network that cannot take the file and post to the rest.
  • TikTok takes photos up to 1080 × 1920 pixels. A larger JPEG is sent to TikTok as a smaller copy, your original is not changed, and the dashboard, History, the API answer and AI apps say so with both sizes. A photo we cannot make smaller (a large WebP, a very large JPEG) is refused before anything is sent, with what to send instead. The limits and every message: TikTok photos.
  • Large files upload in pieces and continue after a dropped connection. API imports from a URL up to 5 GB continue in the background; poll the media status until it is ready.
  • Upload links (an AI app that runs commands, or your own script, sending a file from a computer; paid plans) take MP4, MOV, M4V and WebM videos and JPEG, PNG and WebP images: videos up to 5 GB, images up to 20 MB, within the plan's daily budget for files uploaded or imported by apps (the dashboard has none).
  • Compressed files generally upload faster and are less likely to hit size limits. Consider optimizing media before uploading.
  • Social networks may update their limits at any time. We keep this page aligned with the latest behavior observed in production.
