How to Schedule LinkedIn Posts (Profile and Company Page)
LinkedIn schedules posts up to 3 months ahead on profiles and Pages. The steps, plus what an outside tool needs to post to a company Page.

Short answer: Yes, LinkedIn schedules posts itself, for free. On your profile, click the clock icon in the post window and pick a time between 10 minutes and 3 months ahead. On a company Page, a super admin or content admin can schedule from one hour to three months ahead, under Page posts (LinkedIn Help, LinkedIn Help). Outside tools are a different story: posting to a company Page through the API needs a permission LinkedIn grants only to registered organizations. Status 200 Uploads posts to your LinkedIn profile, not to company Pages.
Key Takeaways
| Point | Details |

| Company Page posts in LinkedIn | Super admins and content admins schedule 1 hour to 3 months ahead |
| Can't be scheduled on a Page | Events, multiple photos, reshares, polls, jobs and service posts |
| Company Pages via API | Need w_organization_social, part of the Community Management API, "only available to registered legal organizations" |
| Status 200 Uploads | Posts to your LinkedIn profile (not company Pages), on every plan, Free included, up to 365 days ahead |
| n8n | Our node is verified by n8n since 26 October 2026, so it installs on n8n Cloud too |
How to schedule a post on your LinkedIn profile
LinkedIn's own steps (Schedule posts, LinkedIn Help):
- Click Start a post at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
- Write the post.
- Click the clock icon in the lower-right corner.
- Pick the date and time, then click Next and Schedule.
LinkedIn says "you can schedule a post between 10 minutes and 3 months from the current time", and you can type an exact time instead of using the 30-minute steps. Times are "converted to UTC based on your device's time zone settings", so check your device's time zone before you plan a week of posts. Events and jobs can't be scheduled.
Where to find scheduled posts: click Start a post, then the clock icon, then View all scheduled posts. From there you can preview a post, delete it, or use Modify schedule or Edit post.
How to schedule a LinkedIn company Page post
For Pages, LinkedIn has a separate help article (Schedule a LinkedIn Page post). You need to be a super admin or content admin of the Page.
- Go to your Page's super admin or content admin view.
- Click Page posts in the left menu.
- Click Start a post.
- Click the clock icon in the lower right, choose a date and time, and click Next.
- Finish the post and click Schedule.
The window is different from profiles: "anywhere between an hour from the current time to three months in advance." The time "is based on your location."
Some Page post types can't be scheduled at all. LinkedIn lists "events, multiple photos, reshares, polls, jobs, and service posts". You also "cannot promote a scheduled post using the Browse existing content option in Campaign Manager until the post is published on your Page."
| Profile | Company Page | |
|---|---|---|
| Who can schedule | You | Super admins and content admins |
| Earliest | 10 minutes ahead | 1 hour ahead |
| Latest | 3 months ahead | 3 months ahead |
| Can't be scheduled | Events, jobs | Events, multiple photos, reshares, polls, jobs, service posts |

What an outside tool needs to post to a company Page
LinkedIn's Posts API uses two different permissions (Posts API):
w_member_social: "Post, comment, and like posts on behalf of an authenticated member." This is the self-serve one: LinkedIn's Share on LinkedIn product grants it (Share on LinkedIn).w_organization_social: "Post, comment, and like posts on behalf of an organization", restricted to members with the Page role ADMINISTRATOR, DIRECT_SPONSORED_CONTENT_POSTER or CONTENT_ADMIN.
The organization permission comes with the Community Management API, and LinkedIn is strict about who gets it: "At this time, our Community Management APIs are only available to registered legal organizations for commercial use cases only." You need a business email ("Personal email addresses won't pass the vetting process"), and a super admin of the organization's LinkedIn Page has to verify the application (Community Management App Review).
So when a scheduler says it posts to LinkedIn, check whether it means your profile, your company Page, or both.
Scheduling LinkedIn profile posts with Status 200 Uploads
To be clear about what we do: "Posts go to the member profile of the LinkedIn account you sign in with; company pages are not supported" (LinkedIn on Status 200 Uploads). For company Pages, use LinkedIn's own scheduler above.
For your profile, here's what you get:
| Details | |
|---|---|
| Plans | Every plan, Free included |
| Text | Up to 3,000 characters, or LinkedIn-only text with linkedin.text |
| Media | One image or one MP4 video (up to 5 GB) per post; carousels aren't supported |
| Scheduling | Up to 365 days ahead |
| Sign-in | You sign in on LinkedIn itself (OAuth); we never see your password |
One reason to schedule outside LinkedIn is cross-posting: the same post goes to LinkedIn and your other networks, and LinkedIn can get its own, longer text.
Example: schedule a LinkedIn post through the API
Send post.scheduledFor with a time zone. More than 60 seconds ahead, "the post is scheduled for that time (202 scheduled), up to 365 days ahead" (API docs).
curl -X POST 'https://status200uploads.com/api/v2/posts' \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
-H 'Authorization: Bearer rl_your_api_key' \
-H 'Idempotency-Key: weekly-update-2026-11-02-linkedin' \
-d '{
"post": {
"accountId": "@yourprofile",
"platform": "linkedin",
"content": { "text": "Our weekly update is out." },
"linkedin": { "text": "Our weekly update is out. This week: what changed in LinkedIn scheduling, and three posts that worked for us." },
"scheduledFor": "2026-11-02T08:30:00+01:00"
}
}'
The answer is 202 with "code": "scheduled" and a scheduled_post_id, and you can cancel it with DELETE /posts/{id} before it goes out. Two LinkedIn details from our docs:
- Duplicates. A refusal comes back as
500 platform_error: "LinkedIn refused the post, for example as a duplicate of a recent one; LinkedIn's reason is in the message." TheIdempotency-Keymakes a retried request return the first answer, so it never posts twice. - Spacing. The answer warns with
posts_close_together"when another LinkedIn post of the account is scheduled within 20 seconds: leave at least a minute between them" (LinkedIn on Status 200 Uploads).
From n8n
Our n8n node, @status200uploads/n8n-nodes-status200uploads, is now listed on n8n's site as "built and maintained by our partners at Status 200 Uploads and verified by n8n" (n8n integrations). That matters for n8n Cloud. Since 26 October 2026, an owner or admin opens the nodes panel (+), searches for Status 200 Uploads and clicks Install, and every member can then use it. On self-hosted n8n, it installs under Settings, Community Nodes (our n8n page).
In the node, choose Post: Create, pick your profile and LinkedIn, and set When to At a Set Time. One node sends one post to one network, so add one node per network to cross-post. For the full workflow, see how to auto-post to social media with n8n.
