## Key differences

### API on every plan

Status 200's REST API is on every plan, including Free, with self-serve keys. It publishes or schedules posts on all 9 networks (Skool from Beginner, X with the $9/mo add-on), and a dry run checks a post without sending it. Metricool's API is on its Advanced and Custom plans only: Advanced starts at $67/mo billed monthly ($53 a month on annual billing) for up to 15 brands. Metricool's MCP server, the way AI apps connect, works on every Metricool plan.

### Lower price for up to 3 brands

Status 200 Beginner is $9/mo ($7.50 a month billed yearly) for 3 profiles. Like a Metricool brand, each profile holds one account per network, and Beginner covers 8 networks including Skool. Metricool's first paid plan, Starter, is $25/mo billed monthly ($20 a month on annual billing) for up to 5 brands. From 5 brands up Metricool costs less: Starter for 10 brands is $45/mo billed monthly, where Status 200 Skilled (10 profiles) is $69/mo.

### Large videos and Skool

Status 200 accepts videos up to 5 GB and publishes up to 5 GB to YouTube, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and Skool, and up to 4 GB to TikTok. Metricool's media requirements list 500 MB for videos on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest, 512 MB on X and LinkedIn, and 1 GB on Threads. Skool is not among the networks Metricool lists.

### Where Metricool is ahead

Metricool pairs the planner with analytics: competitor tracking (5 profiles on Free, 100 on paid plans), unlimited history and PDF or PowerPoint reports on paid plans, and an inbox for comments and messages. It also posts to Bluesky and Google Business Profile, publishes Pinterest video Pins, LinkedIn documents and threads on X and Threads, imports posts from CSV files, and its MCP server works on its Free plan. On Advanced it adds official apps on Zapier and on Make; Status 200 has no Zapier or Make app.

## Who should use which?

- You want a REST API without paying for Metricool Advanced ($67/mo billed monthly): Status 200's is on every plan, including Free
- You manage up to 3 brands and want one $9/mo plan with Skool included
- You publish videos over 512 MB to YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, X or LinkedIn
- You want LinkedIn on a free plan, or X on any plan with a $9/mo add-on

### Choose Metricool if...

- You want competitor tracking, unlimited analytics history and PDF or PowerPoint reports
- You need an inbox to answer comments and messages from one place
- You post to Bluesky or Google Business Profile, or publish Pinterest video Pins, LinkedIn documents or threads on X and Threads
- You manage 5 or more brands: Metricool Starter covers up to 10 for $45/mo billed monthly ($36 a month on annual billing)

- You import posts from CSV files, or need to edit scheduled posts through an API
- You build automations in Zapier or Make and want an official app: Metricool has one on Advanced, and there is no Status 200 app in either

## Switching from Metricool?

1. Create a free Status 200 Uploads account at status200uploads.com/signup
2. Connect the same social accounts you use on Metricool. Eight networks connect through their own official sign-in (OAuth), so we never see your password. Skool has no such sign-in: you paste your Skool session cookie, which we store encrypted.
3. Upload your media to the Status 200 media library
4. Export your scheduled posts from Metricool's calendar as a CSV file, then recreate them in the Status 200 dashboard or send them to the REST API with post.scheduledFor, one request per post
5. Verify your first posts publish, then cancel your Metricool plan: it stays active until the end of the billing period and then becomes Metricool Free

## Questions

### Is Status 200 cheaper than Metricool?

It depends on how many brands you manage and whether you need an API. A Metricool brand and a Status 200 profile both hold one account per network. Status 200 Beginner is $9/mo ($7.50 a month billed yearly) for 3 profiles; Metricool Starter is $25/mo billed monthly ($20 a month on annual billing) for up to 5 brands. From 5 up, Metricool costs less, billed monthly: 5 brands are $25/mo there and 5 profiles $29/mo (Apprentice) here, and 10 brands are $45/mo there against $69/mo (Skilled) here. If you need an API, Metricool's starts at Advanced, $67/mo billed monthly ($53 a month on annual billing) for up to 15 brands, while Status 200's REST API is on every plan, Free included. Metricool's prices exclude VAT.

### Does Metricool have an API?

Yes, on its Advanced and Custom plans only. Requests go to app.metricool.com/api with your token in an X-Mc-Auth header plus your user and brand ids, and Metricool publishes Swagger files and a PDF guide; its API pages list no rate limits, webhooks or SDKs. Status 200's REST API is on every plan, including Free, with self-serve keys, an OpenAPI file, a dry run that checks a post without sending it, a Python package (pip install status200uploads) and an n8n community node, which n8n verified on 26 October 2026, for n8n Cloud and self-hosted n8n. Webhooks are not available on Status 200 yet.

### Does Metricool have an MCP server for Claude?

Yes. Metricool's MCP server works on every Metricool plan, Free included, within that plan's limits, and Metricool says it is listed in Claude's connector directory. Through it an AI app can read analytics, publish or schedule posts, edit scheduled posts and send posts for review; Metricool says inbox messages, comments and Smartlinks are not available through it. For Status 200, add https://mcp.status200uploads.com/mcp as a custom connector in Claude or Claude Code: after you sign in, the app can publish, schedule, check and retry posts on all 9 networks, Skool included. The AI connector is included in every paid plan, from Beginner; the Free plan has the REST API, not the MCP server. Tested with Claude and Claude Code.

### Can Metricool post to Skool?

Skool is not among the networks on Metricool's pricing page or in its scheduling guide (checked 15 October 2026). Status 200 posts to Skool communities on every paid plan, from Beginner ($9/mo), from the dashboard, the REST API or the AI connector. Skool has no official API, so you paste your Skool session cookie, which we store encrypted; Skool takes one post per hour and 10 a day from an account.

### How do the free plans compare?

Metricool Free gives 1 brand and 20 published posts a month on Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube and Google Business Profile, without LinkedIn or X, plus 30 days of analytics, an inbox and the MCP server; it never expires. Status 200 Free gives 1 profile and 30 posts a month on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Threads, with REST API keys; X can be added for $9/mo, and Skool and the MCP server start at Beginner. Neither needs a credit card.

### How large can videos be on each?

Status 200 accepts videos up to 5 GB and images up to 20 MB, and publishes videos up to 5 GB to YouTube, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and Skool, 4 GB to TikTok, 1 GB to Threads and 300 MB to Instagram; Pinterest posts are images only. Metricool's media requirements list videos up to 500 MB on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest, 512 MB on X and LinkedIn, 1 GB on Threads, 75 MB on Google Business Profile and 50 MB on Bluesky, and its mobile app imports files up to 500 MB. On Instagram, Metricool's listed limit is higher than ours.

### How much does X (Twitter) cost on Metricool?

Metricool connects X only on paid plans, from Starter, with its X/Twitter add-on: $10 per connected X account per month, or $120 a year, since 13 July 2026 (add-ons bought before July 2026 keep $5 a month while at least one stays active). Metricool Free cannot connect X. Status 200's X add-on is $9/mo on any plan, Free included, for 200 X posts a month, up to 20 with a link.
